Data and purposes
We process project or organisation name, location, email, requested service, description and proposed financial or time contributions to assess requests and coordinate services. Accounts include profile and authentication data; newsletter requests contain email and submitted language. Stripe processes data necessary for payment. Avoid unnecessary sensitive third-party information in free-text fields.
Legal bases
Requested assessment and services rely on pre-contractual steps or contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) where applicable to the data subject; communication with representatives and security rely on legitimate interests (6(1)(f)), subject to balancing. Accounting obligations rely on 6(1)(c). Newsletter and optional analytics require revocable consent (6(1)(a)). We do not request personal religious beliefs; any necessary special-category processing requires assessment of an Article 9 condition before processing.
Providers
The code integrates Supabase for data and authentication, Stripe for payments and Elastic Email for messages and campaigns. Umami provides optional analytics. YouTube receives connections when the video is opened. DeepSeek processes administrator-submitted campaign content for improvement or translation and request emails for structuring in Spanish, English and German. Administrators review drafts and select fields shared with donors on a password-protected page. Donor sessions use a 12-hour cookie and a temporary IP hash limits login attempts; unnecessary personal or sensitive data must not be submitted. No PayPal integration was identified. Contracts, regions and subprocessors require confirmation before finalising this policy.
Retention and transfers
Data is retained as necessary for its purpose and applicable legal obligations; withdrawing consent does not remove retention obligations. Specific periods, hosting, regions and safeguards for transfers outside the EEA await contractual verification. Exclusive EU storage is not guaranteed.
Cookies, storage and analytics
Authentication uses Supabase cookies and an administrative session lasting 12 hours by default, configurable. Language and analytics preference remain in localStorage until removed. Umami loads only after analytics is accepted. Rejecting analytics leaves essential functions available. Change your choice in Privacy preferences. Stripe loads when the payment flow is opened and YouTube when the video is opened; these providers may process technical data under their own conditions.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection as applicable, and withdraw consent at [email protected]. You may complain to the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde (Austria) or your competent local authority. Business contact: [email protected].
Contributions are received by Smartquot e.U., under the responsibility of Oscar Lee Corradine, to fund development, coordination, professional work, hosting, licences and providers for technology projects. Funds are not automatically transferred to churches or missionaries.
Tech in Missions currently has no recognition as a recipient of tax-deductible donations in Austria and issues no certificates for that purpose. The tax treatment of business sponsorship depends on its circumstances and applicable law.
